    tempa 2

The current crises in the indigenous communities were the results of years of neglect.

However, certain politician(s) refer it as 'our Katrina'.

May I remind you that unlike hurricane or any other natural disaster, it does not rise over night, rather it took years in the making.

And why it took 10 years to get the current government's attention and finally decide to do anything about it is beyond my comprehension.

To me it is just another election stunt (of the current goverment) to attract voters and sending in reinforcement without prior consultation of the local people will not work at all.

    desalination plant

With the current dam level at only 28%, it is not surprise that today's announcement made by the Bracks goverment includes a 3.1 billion dollar desalination plant.

The plant will be controversal, because its location (nobody wants to be next to it) and the cost.

The question is whether the plant will be up and running in time to solve melb's water crisis.
