    Happy birthday mark!

    Happy Birthday, Mark!

Now you are 32, and no longer work in science anymore.

Wish you all the best for your career change and most of all, enjoy life!

    cost of running a car

I T-Boned a Nissan  Pulsar back in mid Aug. The impact actually sent the pulsar in a 180 degree turn, end up in the paddy.

Because it was my fault, the insurance company actually beefed up the repair bill to around  $7000, and says the car was a write off.

At the end of the day, I accepted the write off and decided to keep the car.
I use the cash from the insurance company and find my own panel beater.

Actually subsequent safety inspection identified more worn out parts, so the cost skyrocket dramatically.

    Here's the cost of repair:
    panel beater $1800
    police fine $180
    new car licence plate $26
    viv $440
    RWC $70
replace front disc rotor and rear shock absorber $700
    major motor service $264
wheel alignment + camber bolt $200
    new car insurance $700
    taxi fare $100
    Temporary registration $65

the actually cost to get the car back on the road actually exceeds the car's cost, so go figure...

the point of getting a degree

I always interested in science and wanted to have a career in science.

6 years of uni with postgraduate degrees, I can only get a job that pays $20 per hour.

Doing manual labour work and you get $30 per hour.

    so go figure...

    not your average DC

After working 3 months at the DC, wer are all leaner and meaner.

This is not your average DC, it is more like a discipline centre.

I even lost 4 kg in 3 months. The main good thing was I getting fitter and healthier, and my eczema is almost gone!
